Parent (MCPS Teacher): I cannot possibly say enough good things about Ms. Shaheen. I had heard about her from a coworker years ago, but we could never get in, because she was always full. Now I know why!! Before Ms. Shaheen, we had been to 3 in home daycare's and 2 daycare centers, and my biggest regret is that we didn’t get to her sooner.
Ms. Shaheen embodies the perfect balance of nurturing and educational. My daughter learned all her sight words and was reading simple sentences by the end of her year at Park Ridge Daycare. In the same token, I know that Ms. Shaheen cared for my daughter like her own child. The love she has for all her children is like no where else I’ve ever been! And the relationship is mutual. My daughter loves Ms. Shaheen, couldn’t wait to buy her presents on the holidays, was so excited to return each Monday, never wanted to leave when I picked her up, and still, months after leaving Ms. Shaheen says how much she loves her.
We will forever be lucky that we were able to send our daughter to Ms. Shaheen for a year, and only wish it had been longer. She is an absolute gem in the daycare industry, and you’ll never find someone else like her!
Parent (MCPS Occupational Therapist): From the moment we walked in the door at Park Ridge Daycare/Preschool, we knew that we wanted our daughter to be with Ms. Shaheen. We were lucky enough to have our daughter attend Park Ridge Daycare/Preschool for more than 3 years. While she was with Ms. Shaheen, she learned to read, write and count. She had plenty of opportunities to complete fun crafts and other fine motor activities. She learned how to use crayons and pencils to draw, color and write. She learned how to use scissors in order to cut out increasingly complex lines and shapes. She learned fun songs that she loved to sing in the car and at home. She engaged in imaginative play and participated in other games with her friends. She had lots of opportunities to play (inside and outside) in order to work on gross motor skills and socialization skills. Our daughter loves learning because of Ms. Shaheen. She felt loved and was always happy when she was with Ms. Shaheen. When we picked her up at the end of the day, she often wanted to stay longer to play with her friends. She also never wanted to leave without a hug from Ms. Shaheen. Even though our daughter is moving on to Kindergarten, she continues to talk about how much she loves Ms. Shaheen and how she wants to visit her. We recommended her to anyone who is looking for a safe and nurturing learning environment for their child. We are blessed to have had her in our daughter’s life.
